Whew! It’s been a pretty busy couple of weeks. Not only did I have two older stories get re-released, but my second collaboration with the fabulous Rick Reed, Stranded with Desire, came out as well! I knew there was going to be a bit of a pile-up at the beginning of August, but I didn’t expect to get so overwhelmed with it all. My kids went back to school on August 1, and on top of that, we’re hosting an international exchange student from Germany this year, so it’s been all I can do just to keep up.
First, the new work. Last summer, Rick asked me to collaborate with him for Dreamspinner’s new line, Dreamspun Desires. It’s a throwback to the classic Harlequin tropes we all used to read when we were younger, except with gay heroes. So. Much. Fun. Our story combined two of our favorites–getting stranded and being in love with the boss–and the result was Stranded with Desire. In fact, we had so much fun with it that we’re planning on writing another for the line!
Then, I had another re-release come out from JMS Books. This one is one of my favorites. It’s called The Hearts of Yesteryear, and it’s about an actor in his seventies who is forced to go back to his hometown and as a result, confront his demons. One of those demons was his childhood best friend and first love. I love these old guys, and even better, I love that I can tell a story to show that you can still have a chance at love even when you have an AARP card. It’s funny and poignant, and I hope you take a chance with it if you missed it the first time around.
Finally, Savage Estate came out at Liquid Silver. I hadn’t had much opportunity to write full-length novels the past few years, so it was fun to get to play in a longer format again. It’s got magic and a gorgeous shifter and, oh yeah, a beautiful cover to go with their budding romance.I’m so excited to be back at Liquid Silver. They were one of the first publishers to take a chance on me a decade ago, and it’s always been like family to me. They accepted three other of my stories for re-release, and you’ll see those over the next nine months.
In the meantime, I hope you enjoy one of these!
